In times of tragedy, children are the most affected. Baseball can help to restore a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos.
PIFB’s first project was with two Little League programs in Biloxi, Mississippi that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Disaster relief programs are ingrained into the fabric of this organization, still being our most impactful effort and our chance to bring some normalcy to kids in times of tragedy. Over the past decade, PIFB has helped to rebuild entire leagues and thousands of kids to start their seasons on time. PIFB has assisted with relief efforts in NY/NJ shoreline following Hurricane Sandy; Joplin, MO; the Gulf Coast region; and Japan.
Recently, with the flooding in Texas, West Virginia, and Louisiana we have received several requests from leagues that lost everything and the number continues to grow.
